We are a fast growing renewable energy information company with offices in UK and China, and we are looking for an excellent salesman to work in China to manage our sales department..
The job will start in summer 2008, and will be an open contract with an 18-month minimum period.
ENF has been operating for 3 years, and we now have 27 staff – 24 of whom are based in the China office.
Our company has the world’s most popular website for information about companies in the solar power industry (our website is in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Chinese and Japanese), and we have a team of people making market research reports profiling the companies in the industry.
We have a nice portfolio of research reports and online advertising to sell to companies around the world, but our sales team of 3 people are not performing as well as they could – and are in need of an excellent salesperson to lead by example.
The job is in a city called Wuhu, which has low pollution and has less crime than England.
Compensation
ENF will provide accommodation within a shared apartment with other employees, salary will be low compared to UK but it will be around double the salary we pay to our Chinese staff. ENF will pay for your flight to and from China, and your visa application fees. In addition there are salary reviews every 6 months.
Key skill requirement
You don’t need to be able to speak any Chinese as all employees are fluent in English, and you don’t need any background in the renewable energy industry (as a good salesman can sell anything).
Candidates should have at least 2 years of sales experience – if you have experience selling advertising or information it is a strong plus.
Candidates must be very self-motivating. As the sales build up you will have an increasing number of contacts with people you have gotten to know – but at the start there will be a lot of telephone work to initiate contact with marketing managers around the world (although many will know ENF’s name already). Your strong enthusiasm and hard work day-in and day-out is needed to inspire your sales team to work as hard as you.
Job Details
The job will be to sell ENF`s advertising and market research reports. Candidates should be able to organise sales activities in a good way, manage the sales team, track the performance of each salesperson, train the less experienced salespeople in better selling techniques etc.
Note: Candidates must be willing to work on different time zones based on the companies they are selling to. Eg. When selling to all the European companies, you may need yourself and your staff to work 2pm until 11pm. When selling to US companies, you may need to shift your working time to 6am until 3pm in order to get a few hours of calls in each day.
